This comprehensive policy reimburses you in the event of the death of your insured horse resulting from an accident, illness or disease. This policy also provides coverage if an insured horse must be humanely euthanized to prevent excess, continued suffering due to an incurable injury or tem1inal disease. Limited theft protection is included to protect you if your animal is stolen or dies as a result of theft.
This coverage will reimburse you for reasonable and customary fees up to the Major Medical policy limit for veterinary fees as a result of an accident, illness or surgical procedure. There is a $250 deductible that applies to each separate occurrence. There are certain eligibility requirements and this endorsement is available only on horses 30 days old through age 15 years. Should your insured horse require surgery, this endorsement will cover the costs. This coverage will pay reasonable and customary charges for surgical treatment (including anesthesia) necessitated by accident, injury or illness. In addition to the surgery, it will pay up to 35% of the surgical fees for any hospitalization, X-rays, medication and lab tests that are necessitated as a result of the surgery. LOSS OF USE (Available to horses between the ages of3 through 12 that are valued at a minimum of $25,000 to a maximum of $500,000)
LIMITED (ACCIDENTAL) LOU (Available to horses between the ages of 3 through 12 that are used specifically for Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Cutting, or Reining)
STALLION ACCIDENT, SICKNESS & DISEASE FERTILITY
Application is required for coverage:
- Veterinary Examination form
- Required with application for horses valued in excess of $50,000; foals under 6 months or horses 15 years or older; race horses; and all horses with a previous illness, injury, lameness or disease. A vet exam is also required for all optional coverage's listed above. Veterinary exam must not be completed more than 20 days prior to inception of coverage.
